The infidel is a work of historical fiction set against the backdrop of the religious wars known as ‘The Crusades.’  It is also a story of espionage, family tragedy and esotericism, as the protagonist Gian, struggles to find his family’s killers and becomes embroiled in the world of 13th Century politics, greed and treachery.

‘The Infidel is divided into five discrete books, as Gian discovers the truth about his heritage and the role he has to play in the fate of kingdoms. Based on the real history of a family of famed assassins, ‘The Infidel’ reveals the untold story behind the Crusades.

The Covenant begins in the hills above Assisi in the year 1223, at the farm of a free peasant - Torlino. The action commences with the murder of Torlino and his two eldest children, leaving the third, and youngest child Gian - a seventeen year old Dominican novice, alone and bewildered. He encounters Lara and so begins their flight across Northern Italy and into the hands of one of the most powerful men in Europe - the Doge of Venice.

legacy he must now carry alone.
